Top Ten Inspirational Quotes
Happy Thursday! Here's a collection of some of my favorite quotes-

O1. “Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.”
― Dr. Seuss

O2. “This life is what you make it. No matter what, you're going to mess up sometimes, it's a universal truth. But the good part is you get to decide how you're going to mess it up. Girls will be your friends - they'll act like it anyway. But just remember, some come, some go. The ones that stay with you through everything - they're your true best friends. Don't let go of them. Also remember, sisters make the best friends in the world. As for lovers, well, they'll come and go too. And baby, I hate to say it, most of them - actually pretty much all of them are going to break your heart, but you can't give up because if you give up, you'll never find your soulmate. You'll never find that half who makes you whole and that goes for everything. Just because you fail once, doesn't mean you're gonna fail at everything. Keep trying, hold on, and always, always, always believe in yourself, because if you don't, then who will, sweetie? So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life's a beautiful thing and there's so much to smile about.”
― Marilyn Monroe

O3. “Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.”
― Albert Einstein

O4. “The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
― Mark Twain

O5. “If you don't know where you're going, any road'll take you there”
― George Harrison, Cloud Nine

O6. All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

O7. Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them - that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.
Lao Tzu

O8. Experience is not what happens to you; it's what you do with what happens to you.
Aldous Huxley

O9. The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails.
William Arthur Ward

1O. Happiness depends upon ourselves.
Aristotle

Band of the Week- The Saturdays
Hey! Sorry I didn't tip last week. I'm thinking of doing this every week! Anyways, follow my NEW personal @fallingtopi3ces
**********************************************************
The Saturdays are a British-Irish girl group based and formed in London, United Kingdom. The group, which consists of members Una Healy, Rochelle Humes, Mollie King, Frankie Sandford and Vanessa White, were formed through Fascination Records in 2007, and have released three studio-albums, two EPs and fifteen singles as of 2013.

The band released their debut single, If This Is Love in July 2008, charting at number-eight, and earning The Saturdays their first top-ten single. The group's second single, Up followed in October 2008, and their debut studio-album was released two weeks later. Chasing Lights charted at number-nine in the United Kingdom, receiving positive reviews from most critics, and was later certified platinum by the BPI. The record also spawned the three further singles; Issues, Just Can't Get Enough and Work - all charting within the Top 20. Following the success of their first album, The Saturdays embarked on their first concert tour throughout June/July 2009, titled, The Work Tour. The band shortly began work on their second studio-album, Wordshaker, which was released in October 2009. It charted identically to Chasing Lights in the UK, and produced the two top-ten hits; Forever Is Over and Ego. The group released an EP, titled, Headlines! featuring six tracks included on previous album, Wordshaker, and six new tracks including the singles; Missing You and Higher, which featured guest vocals from American recording artist, Flo Rida in 2009. The success of these two releases saw The Saturdays perform at twenty-two venues across the UK in The Headlines! Tour. On Your Radar was released as the band's third studio-album in November 2011, featuring the three singles; Notorious, All Fired Up and My Heart Takes Over. In December 2011, the band took to their first arena tour, titled, All Fired Up! Live. 30 Days was released as the thirteenth single by The Saturdays in May 2012, and the first to feature on the group's upcoming fourth studio-album. It peaked successfully in the UK Singles Chart, charting at number-seven. Following their recording for Chasing The Saturdays throughout 2012/2013, the band earned their first number-one single with What About Us, featuring Jamaican dancehall and reggae artist, Sean Paul. The group are due to release Gentleman as the third track to be taken from the upcoming album in June 2013.

Aside from their musical career, The Saturdays have also written an autobiography, entitled, 'The Saturdays: Our Story', and starred in three television series - ITV2's, 'The Saturdays: 24/7', Channel 4's, 'What Goes On Tour...' and most recently E!'s, 'Chasing The Saturdays'. The band have also appeared in British soap opera, Hollyoaks and their self-titled episode of paranormal television series, 'Ghosthunting With...'. They have also supported many charities, as well as fronting campaigns for Veet, Nintendogs + Cats, Tampax and launching a set of nail polishes sold exclusively through Superdrug

Oldies but Goodies

Oldies but Goodies
Hello lovelies! Jordan, here. I'll be filling in for Miss Annie (tips on Monday) who is taking a much deserved break :)

This tip is about some pretty old books written by the greats like Nathaniel Hawthorne, Emily Bronte, and Mary Shelley.

So if you want to seem more educated and refined, or just looking for a good book to read...I would definitely recommend these selections. You can look up the plots online although Wikipedia will spoil the entire story so here is my little description.

Wuthering Heights: Raised with the mysterious enigma Heathcliff, Catherine "Cathy" has known no other life than the wilds of her manor with only her brother and Heathcliff as a companion. When one dark evening Cathy and Heathcliff's antics change their lives forever.

Cathy is swept up in the arms of another man to the disappointment of Heathcliff. Now Heathcliff is out for revenge and things are not going to be pretty. There might not be any happy ending for these two.

Frankenstein: One dark and stormy night, a brooding doctor plays God, crossing the bridge between life and death. Things will never be the same again. Death follows him wherever he goes and when he goes back on his promise to the monster there is hell to pay.

The Scarlet Letter: The story begins with a scandal that rocks a tiny Massachusetts colony. The heroine, Hester Prynne is scorned by her "friends" and seeks companionship amongst the outcasts of society. The punishment for having a child with no father was a large scarlet letter A sewed onto her dresses. A for adulteress. But Hester's story is just beginning, the baby's father is tortured by his guilt but Hester will not allow him to be cast from his lofty position amongst the people. What will become of this tiny distraught family and who is the stranger who suddenly appears threatening Hester and her child wherever they go?

Disclaimer: I recommend skipping the intro to the Scarlet letter, it is not the most entertaining part of the book. Wuthering Heights also has a similar intro and Frankenstien's plot picks up towards the middle of the book. Hang in there! You won't be disappointed.

xox keep smiling!

Review: eos lip balm

Review: eos lip balm
Hi lovelies!! Its Maya @mayaml18 and today I will be doing a review on the eos lip balms. EOS stands for evolution of smooth. They are super popular so I hope this will help you decide to buy one.

Where to buy:
I get mine at Target, but Walgreens, Walmart, CVS, etc should sell them too. If you don't live in the US you can get them on their website http://evolutionofsmooth.com

Price:
The ones I buy are 2.99 US dollars so the price is pretty cheap and totally worth it. On the website, they may be more expensive. 4/5

Packaging:
I love the egg shaped look of the eos lip balms. They are not very practical for pockets but who cares? You twist the cap off and there is a yolk shape amount of product inside. 4/5

Product:
So there are many flavors: lemon drop, summer fruit, watermelon wonderland, strawberry sorbet, honeysuckle honeydew, sweet mint, blueberry potion, sweet vanilla nonsense, and medicated orange. There are some more that were limited addition. I have the strawberry sorbet, sweet mint, and lemon drop. These all smell and taste AMAZING!!!! My favorite is lemon drop, then strawberry sorbet, then sweet mint. They also are all super moisterizing. 5/5

Overall I give the eos smooth sphere lip balm 9/10!! You should totally try them out. I would choose strawberry sorbet as my first one because almost everybody loves it.

Requests in the comments?

Flirting and catching a guys attention:)
Hey guys! It's Robin here to give you my advice on the subject of flirting:) In no way do I think that I am some kind of expert... These are just my tips:)

I feel like there are multiple ways to catch a guy's attention. So I decided to put this stuff into categories.

Cute friendky things:
&Showing that you care and being flirty but casual and friendly
-Poke them on Facebook / Write on their timeline / Tweet them / Tag them on Instagram
-Invite them to things, like a party, or just to hang out with friends
-Send them funny pictures
-Work with them in class or on school projects
-Say hi in hallways
-sit with them at lunch
-Pretend to be upset if they jokingly make fun of you
-Take pictures with/of them (With the taking pictures of them, just don't be creepy haha)
-Make them a cute birrthday card
-Call them your bestie
-Walk with them to classes
-Give them a nickname
-Make funny faces with them
-Wear their hats/glasses
-Doodle on their papers

Subtle hints:
&Doing things and seeing if they notice, hinting that you may like them without being to obvious
-drop something and see if they pick it up
-Say you're cold and see if they give you their jacket
-befriend their friends
-Subtly mimic their movements, making you look like you're in sync
-Use their name a lot in conversation
-Talk quietly so they have to lean in to hear you

Complements:
&Pretty self explanatory, just don't overdo it
-Complement their shoes
-Tell them their hair looks sexy pushed back (I had to put that in here okay)
-Complement their eyebrows, it's random and shows personality & humor

Conversation:
&Things to say in conversation that could show your interest and keep the convo going
-Ask about their family
-Tell them funny secrets
-Jokingly make fun of them. (Don't actually be mean) You can call them cute. Most guys hate being called cute
-ask them who they like
-Ask them questions, maybe about their interests, what they did over the weekend, etc...
-Ask if they're going to certain school events, dances, track meets, open house, whatevs

Physical:
&Like touching their arm or using body language. Try not to get too weird about it though haha:)
-Give them hugs
-Hold hands (This could be weird depending on your friendship, if you're comfortable then go for it)
-Kiss their cheek, which is same as above, it just depends
-Put your arm around them
-Play with their hair

Being obvious:
&Mixed signals are confusing, it's okay to be a little obvious
-Tell them you like them. (You can do it whatever way you want it to mean, like “I like you, you're cool,” or “I like you, lets go out.”)
-Write something like 'I love y/n' on their hand
-Ask for their number
-Use a cheesy pick up line on them. It shows you have confidence and a sense of humor:)

Your appearance & style:
&Looks don't and shouldn't matter much to any decent person, but here are some eye-catching things:)
-Wear red (Although don't wear so much red that you look like a tomato :p )
-Be quirky & unique
-Be approachable, relax, smile, and don't cross your arms:)
-Make eye contact! If you're too nervous to look someone in the eyes, it makes it really hard to hang out or even talk.
-Dangly earings with your hair up looks really pretty and feminine. (Of course, don't if it's not your style, no need to dress how I tell you to :3)

My last piece of advice on this topic is to not crowd their space or be clingy:)

So that was my tip! I hope it was helpful:3 Any suggestions on this tip or on future tips leave below. Have a fantastic day, lots and lots and lots of love,
-Robin @theamazingneon

Top Ten: Books to Read This Summer

8 days ago - 496 views
Top Ten: Books to Read This Summer
Hello and Happy Thursday! It's almost time for summer break and sunshine *o* These are the books I'm looking forward to reading this summer (summaries via goodreads.com):

O1. The Perks of Being a Wallflower - Stephen Chbosky - "Charlie is a freshman.

And while he's not the biggest geek in the school, he is by no means popular. Shy, introspective, intelligent beyond his years yet socially awkward, he is a wallflower, caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it...The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a deeply affecting coming-of-age story that will spirit you back to those wild and poignant roller-coaster days known as growing up."

O2. Clockwork Princess - Cassandra Clare - "Tessa Gray should be happy - aren't all brides happy?
Yet as she prepares for her wedding, a net of shadows begins to tighten around the Shadowhunters of the London Institute.
A new demon appears, one linked by blood and secrecy to Mortmain, the man who plans to use his army of pitiless automatons, the Infernal Devices, to destroy the Shadowhunters. Mortmain needs only one last item to complete his plan. He needs Tessa. And Jem and Will, the boys who lay equal claim to Tessa's heart, will do anything to save her."

O3. The Great Gatsby - F. Scott Fitzgerald - "Self-made, self-invented millionaire Jay Gatsby embodies some of Fitzgerald's--and his country's--most abiding obsessions: money, ambition, greed, and the promise of new beginnings...And one fine morning--" Gatsby's rise to glory and eventual fall from grace becomes a kind of cautionary tale about the American Dream...It's also a love story, of sorts, the narrative of Gatsby's quixotic passion for Daisy Buchanan. The pair meet five years before the novel begins, when Daisy is a legendary young Louisville beauty and Gatsby an impoverished officer. They fall in love, but while Gatsby serves overseas, Daisy marries the brutal, bullying, but extremely rich Tom Buchanan. After the war, Gatsby devotes himself blindly to the pursuit of wealth by whatever means--and to the pursuit of Daisy, which amounts to the same thing...His millions made, Gatsby buys a mansion across Long Island Sound from Daisy's patrician East Egg address, throws lavish parties, and waits for her to appear. When she does, events unfold with all the tragic inevitability of a Greek drama, with detached, cynical neighbor Nick Carraway acting as chorus throughout. Spare, elegantly plotted, and written in crystalline prose, The Great Gatsby is as perfectly satisfying as the best kind of poem."

O4. An Abundance of Katherines - John Green - "Katherine V thought boys were gross
Katherine X just wanted to be friends
Katherine XVIII dumped him in an e-mail
K-19 broke his heart
When it comes to relationships, Colin Singleton's type happens to be girls named Katherine. And when it comes to girls named Katherine, Colin is always getting dumped. Nineteen times, to be exact.

On a road trip miles from home, this anagram-happy, washed-up child prodigy has ten thousand dollars in his pocket, a bloodthirsty feral hog on his trail, and an overweight, Judge Judy-loving best friend riding shotgun--but no Katherines. Colin is on a mission to prove The Theorem of Underlying Katherine Predictability, which he hopes will predict the future of any relationship, avenge Dumpees everywhere, and finally win him the girl. Love, friendship, and a dead Austro-Hungarian archduke add up to surprising and heart-changing conclusions in this ingeniously layered comic novel about reinventing oneself."

O5. Lord of the Rings - J. R. R. Tolkein - "Through the urgings of the enigmatic wizard Gandalf, young hobbit Frodo Baggins embarks on an urgent, incredibly treacherous journey to destroy the One Ring. This ring -- created and then lost by the Dark Lord, Sauron, centuries earlier -- is a weapon of evil, one that Sauron desperately wants returned to him. With the power of the ring once again his own, the Dark Lord will unleash his wrath upon all of Middle-earth. The only way to prevent this horrible fate from becoming reality is to return the Ring to Mordor, the only place it can be destroyed. Unfortunately for our heroes, Mordor is also Sauron's lair."

O6. Pizza, Love, and Other Stuff That Made Me Famous - Catherine Williams - "Sixteen-year-old Sophie Nicolaides was practically raised in the kitchen of her family’s Italian-Greek restaurant, Taverna Ristorante. When her best friend, Alex, tries to convince her to audition for a new reality show, Teen Test Kitchen, Sophie is reluctant. But the prize includes a full scholarship to one of America's finest culinary schools and a summer in Napa, California, not to mention fame.

Once on-set, Sophie immediately finds herself in the thick of the drama—including a secret burn book, cutthroat celebrity judges, and a very cute French chef. Sophie must figure out a way to survive all the heat and still stay true to herself."

O7. Water for Elephants - Sara Gruen - "Though he may not speak of them, the memories still dwell inside Jacob Jankowski's ninety-something-year-old mind. Memories of himself as a young man, tossed by fate onto a rickety train that was home to the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth. Memories of a world filled with freaks and clowns, with wonder and pain and anger and passion; a world with its own narrow, irrational rules, its own way of life, and its own way of death. The world of the circus: to Jacob it was both salvation and a living hell.

Jacob was there because his luck had run out—orphaned and penniless, he had no direction until he landed on this locomotive "ship of fools." It was the early part of the Great Depression, and everyone in this third-rate circus was lucky to have any job at all. Marlena, the star of the equestrian act, was there because she fell in love with the wrong man, a handsome circus boss with a wide mean streak. And Rosie the elephant was there because she was the great gray hope, the new act that was going to be the salvation of the circus; the only problem was, Rosie didn't have an act—in fact, she couldn't even follow instructions. The bond that grew among this unlikely trio was one of love and trust, and ultimately, it was their only hope for survival. (via Amazon)"

O8. The Princess Bride - William Goldman - "What happens when the most beautiful girl in the world marries the handsomest prince of all time and he turns out to be...well...a lot less than the man of her dreams?...What's it about? Fencing. Fighting. True Love. Strong Hate. Harsh Revenge. A Few Giants. Lots of Bad Men. Lots of Good Men. Five or Six Beautiful Women. Beasties Monstrous and Gentle. Some Swell Escapes and Captures. Death, Lies, Truth, Miracles, and a Little Sex.

In short, it's about everything."

O9. Across the Universe - Beth Revis - "Seventeen-year-old Amy joins her parents as frozen cargo aboard the vast spaceship Godspeed and expects to awaken on a new planet, three hundred years in the future. Never could she have known that her frozen slumber would come to an end fifty years too soon and that she would be thrust into the brave new world of a spaceship that lives by its own rules.

Amy quickly realizes that her awakening was no mere computer malfunction. Someone-one of the few thousand inhabitants of the spaceship-tried to kill her. And if Amy doesn't do something soon, her parents will be next.

Now Amy must race to unlock Godspeed's hidden secrets. But out of her list of murder suspects, there's only one who matters: Elder, the future leader of the ship and the love she could never have seen coming."

1O. Howl's Moving Castle - Diana Wynne Jones - "Sophie lived in the town of Market Chipping, which was in Ingary, a land in which anything could happen, and often did - especially when the Witch of the Waste got her dander up. Which was often.

As her younger sisters set out to seek their fortunes, Sophie stayed in her father's hat shop. Which proved most unadventurous, until the Witch of the Waste came in to buy a bonnet, but was not pleased. Which is why she turned Sophie into an old lady. Which was spiteful witchery.

Now Sophie must seek her own fortune. Which means striking a bargain with the lecherous Wizard Howl. Which means entering his ever-moving castle, taming a blue fire-demon, and meeting the Witch of the Waste head-on. Which was more than Sophie bargained for...."

Happy reading,
